As I said in yesterday’s post, I’d go snowboarding today. Although it didn’t snow like the weather forecast said, a blizzard, I still had a great time with my friends.
But there’s a “but”.
Because I got home pretty late and because my left knee is busted up, I completely forgot about my 365 project!
I had to photograph something, someone quickly. I decided to photograph my wife sleeping. All day today, she waited and worried about me until I came home. As I get older, my injuries heal a lot slower. And the fact I have had many, she would only object when my health is at risk. Snowboarding might be fun for me, but for her it’s something to worry about.
And although I could have brought my camera with me today and have gone home with some pretty sick action shots, I’m glad I didn’t.
Reason number one, I wouldn’t have gotten to enjoy snowboarding.
Reason number two, I’d worry about my gear left in the car or falling if I wore it around my neck.
…
Reason number three, the peaceful look I see in my wife’s face now that I’m home and with her beats all of the above.
